There is really no other place like it in the world. I love everything that it has to offer. The people especially are warm and welcoming, a great cross between southern and cultured.

I have never before reviewed any hotel ever. And I don't stay in nice hotels or have a sense of entitlement. I am telling you this place is terrible. First of all there is not reason why in this day and age I should pay 10 dollars a day for wireless just because a hotel is too cheap to offer it. That sort of corner cutting mentality ...
I moved here three four months ago and just love it. It has all the amenities that you want in a big city and all the charm of a small town. It is a great place to live, work, go to school, and raise children. You'll never want to leave.
Old rooms, probably from the 60s. Never updated. Carpet in room was soaked, and thus, the room reaked of moldly smell. Bathroom tiles and caulk was black with mold in some spaces. A/C unit sounded like a Mac truck starting up. Save the money and go elsewhere!

Not impressed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/18/08
City has no southern charm. Traffic is terrible for a city of this size, and the people in general are not friendly. It is difficult to receive good service, whether shopping or dining. If you're not employed by the university or in in healthcare,it is very difficult to find a job that pays well. Houses are way overpriced, and taxes in ...

Charlottesville is Awful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/24/07
There is very little positive to say about Charlottesville. The surrounding land in Albemarle county is absolutely beautiful. There are also plenty of wineries and historical sites, such as Montecello, to visit. These positive aspects of Charlottesville are quickly outweighed by all of the negatives.
First and foremost, owning and operating ...

Ugh-charlottesville
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/16/07
There is nothing I can say that is good about Charlottesville. It's over-crowded, over priced and just generally miserable.
There's no jobs and if you have one, there is no room for moving up. The prices of housing are insane. $820 a month for a 400 Sq ft. apartment? I think not.
UVA students come and flood the town, making times ...

WHY Charlottesville
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/06
I moved here about 2 years ago and Charlottesville is NOT what it's all cracked up to be. It is a town, not a city, but has city prices. The town itself is not that pretty, you have to drive outside the town to see beauty. It is extremely over priced and overrated. Housing here stinks and it is imppossible to find a decent place to live at a ...

Cute and cozy

Beautiful scenery, a lot to offer for a town this size. Be sure to go to one of the three Bodo's bagels, one near downtown, one on the Corner near the University and one on 29 north, just south of the bypass. Everyone in town eats there. Best food anywhere for the price. And, if you get a wrap at Zazu's, Archs frozen yogurt is conveniently next door for your dessert.

I LOVE LIVING HERE!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/22/06
We just moved here in October 2005, I'm from CO and he is from C'Ville, having spent the last 4 years in humid/hot/tropical/hurricane and tourist ridden Orlando, we are overjoyed to be here. I simply fell in love with it knowing it was so close in feel and size with all the same amenities of my home, Boulder, CO. We live in a wonderful, quiet and gorgeous area in the Fall and Spring. I'm happy to be here, and he is happy to be home.
