This town isn't really what you need to come for. It's safer and a bit cleaner than DC, though more expensive. It's also got the Metro that will take you to the DC sites. If you're doing a trip to DC this would be a good place to stay. It is not the highlight of the vacation.

The old town area was excellent- waterside parks, great book store, and lively pubs. Prices everywhere were very reasonable; all hospitality and sales personnel were very friendly. We stayed across from the King Street metro- very convenient for sightseeing in the District.

I live in Alexandria and it is soooo awesome. I fyou are coming to visit, you should definitely visit Olde Towne and Mt. Vernon, Best historical places EVER! You should eat at King Street Blues because it has a jazzy taste of New Orleans! Definitely come here if you want to visit DC!

Alexandria is da best place to stay at when you come to VA, the views are beautiful and u have a lot of fun there.

i would recommend this to everyone. The people who said this place were thinking something wromg. The suites were real big and u get alot of things.
The people who said this was a horrible lace were do ing it on purpose not to get people too come again.

I loved the historic sites and good restaurants and shopping. It has many activities geared towards children which I liked.Parking seems to be an issue.We also enjoyed the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.

I had an extremely great experience at Mt. Vernon. To see the place where are first President planned battles, slept, ate and lived his every day life was a beautiful experience. Mt.
