Stumbled on Moab UT on a road trip back to Denver airport. I had spent a few weeks traveling out west and this town by far was one of my favorites. I personally felt it was neater than Cody and Jackson Hole and I did like both of those. Lots of cool art, shops and eateries. I wished I had a few extra days on my journey to spend here. I told my ...

Updating city introduction
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/22/07
Whoever wrote the city introduction is quite wrong in some respects. It did not all start with mountain biking. The majority of the bike trails started as atv trails from locals, years and years before Moab became known for mountain biking. Before that, some trails were probably old wagon or horse trails. Also, some of the earliest river companies ...
We stayed three nights in Moab and visited Arches, Canyonlands, and Dead Horse Point. Moab was a great central location with plenty of facilities. The restaurants we visited were good, but the service was poor almost everywhere. We highly recommend the Bar M Chuckwagon. However, we definitely do NOT recommend the Canyonlands by Night boat trip. ...
Moab is a paradise if you enjoy the outdoors. Hiking, backpacking, biking, rafting, it has everything. You need at least a week to take in the absolute minimum of this area. There is Canyonlands, Arches, Colorado/Green rivers, Dead Horse Point, there is just sooo much to do. This is a playground for those who enjoy the outdoors, if you have not been to Moab, you need to make room in your schedule, it's worth the trip!!!

A great little town.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/03/05
Moab is one of those little towns where you instantly feel at home. The food is great the people are awesome. They will do all it takes to make your time there most enjoyable.
The parks the BLM lands are just totally the best in the west. If you have a limited budget and time this is the place to see the most of what the west has to offer.

Married to Moab
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/31/05
The towering canyons and mountains of Moab are clearly a wonder of nature. When my boyfriend and I woke up and saw what the landscape had to offer, we were in awe.
We only had the opportunity to stay in Moab for 3 days but it was 3 days we wished could extend much longer. As we drove down the strip and saw all the jacked up, pumped up, ...
It is really worth drive 2 days from dallas to moab just to ride on the silk rock single track (remember start early morning like 5 am, bring at least 1/2 gallon of water and drink plenty prior and after the ride) and come back. It is really the best MTB ride I have ever done.
I was fortunate enough to have Grandparents living in Moab back in the '60's. The vacation memoreies in my mind are cherished tresures. I'm now planning a trip back to the Grand Canyon. I may not make it up to Moab this time but I just have to get back to that part of the country. I'll be limited on time this trip but plan to get back as often as I can in the future.

The first time I was in Moab was when I went on Vacation about 19 years ago. I loved the area. I now live there. I have been here in Moab for 17 years.
