I recently moved from Boston to Houston for college. I've never liked the cold, although Houston heat can be too much at times. But one of the biggest differences I notices were the downtown areas. In Boston, downtown is teeming with night life, and having spent much time in NYC and Boston I assumed this is how all cities were. Not so. ...

The closest thing to hell in the U.S.

Too humid, too polluted, too flat, too congested, too bland, too industrialized, too many illegals, too spread out, too commercialized, too focused on oil... need I go on?
Good? Um, it's cheap?
Houston might be doing fine right now, but in about fifty years give or take when America runs out of oil, it'll become the next Detroit. Until ...
First anyone from NYC is arrogant. They think that their dirty, rat infested, crime riddled city is the best thing since sliced bread. Guess what? It aint (wink). So please ignore their comments. Second there is plenty to do if you know where to go. (Gee this sounds like how it is in every other large city-wink) Third anyone going downtown for ...
I have visited Houston twice in the last year each time i have found myself dying to leave and come home i grew up in the south and have liced in D.C for 3 years now i am moving to houstion in two weeks really dreading it from my visits it seems theres nothing intresting about the city the traffic is horrible i was actually looking for to traffic on 495 after being there about a week.
I'm one of the few native Houstonians, so I know all about Houston. Yeah, it's hot. Get over it. We're in the south, what do you expect. If you don't like it HOT, then go up north and freeze your butt off. I'll take the heat any day. Houston is a big city, so if you're coming from a little city like New York or Los ...

I say, "HOT DANG!!!"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/09
I will give it to you from 2 sides. First off, I grew up in Houston (Northside, Spring to be exact). I moved up to Philadelphia to go to college and have stayed here. It has been 8 years since I have lived in the great state, and though my Houston life was mostly confined to Spring, I know what to look for in a good city.
I went to Houston for an autoshow. I will tell you something, there are a lot of places there from the Galleria to Galveston, there's always alot things you should see. The Galleria district is really nice and cheap. The bad thing about the city is that the traffic. If there's an event, they even post something on the transguide and ...

Stay away from Holiday Inn Northwest Willowbrook
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/28/09
Houston was OK but this Hotel has to be the absolute worst run Hotel I have ever stayed in. Stayed there Jan 23rd and 24th 2009. The people working at the front desk obviously have never had any training on how to deal with customers. Even worse, and probably the reason why the front desk people were so inept, the management of the Hotel were ...
Okay so for all of you people who have visited Houston on BUSINESS trips have no idea what the con's and pro's of Houston are. Just because you went for 3 days or something doesn't mean that I totally SUCKS. And if you've only been to downtown you've missed out. Houston is a great city with MANYY things to do and plenty to ...

What a Horrible City
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/07/08
I really hate Houston. I always dread going to Houston on business. This place is a complete cesspool of pollution, mosquitos, and traffic. You have no excuse for such a crappy freeway system Houston. The land there is completely flat.
Houston has no zoning regulations. So you can expect to see neighborhoods littered with dilapidated, metal ...
