This cafe seamed to be the real thing, then we tasted the food. I can find these ribs at any national chain everyday of the week, the catfish appeared to be prepackaged and the $20 steak was maybe a $7 piece of meat.. I was not impressed. I expected the best BBQ in the States. I out do these guys in my back yard..

Our destination was Beale St for the music- 13 hours of driving - we were happy! The police were making a presence (making us out-of-towners feeling safe), the clubs were not too crowded, the food was incredible (Blues cafe) and the juke joints were rockin'!!!! We stayed a few blocks from beale st - very clean, very comfortable, very safe and ...
for starters i am from boston and i can say that people in boston are not the worst drivers, i think memphis has that distinction. do not waste your money on the rock and soul museum, i also expected more from the civil rights museum. graceland was pretty good, slave haven, and the stax were also good, sun studios was interesting. as for food we ...
Memphis is music city. From Graceland, to Sun Studio, to Stax Studio, to the Rock n Soul Museum and then to the party that Beale Street is...the music and the food are fabulous. The people are more than friendly. Also, visit the Gibson factory. I am from KC and found the barbq at Interstate Bar B Q to be second to none. Great time in a great town.
I am currently residing on Memphis which is becoming a long visit. There is bad luck and then thre is just bad mojo. 1) the driving is horrible. Lost one vehicle to a red-light runner and got pulled over in Bartlett because the cop didn't like my lane change. 2)My wife (hispanic) has been pulled over four times in Germantown. a)didn't like ...
This is hotel is amazing. Very clean, very helpful service. Pool is nice, but a little small. Breakfast was awesome (as is most Hampton Inn breakfasts). We was on the sixth floor and had a great view. The location is ideal if you want the best Memphis experience.
I've been to Memphis many times (I live in Tennessee) but I had never gone as ...
Memphis wasn't bad. Not much there except Graceland which I enjoyed. Not a very safe place. There are much nicer cities in Tennessee like Nashville.

We just got back from Memphis and had a great time. Visiting Graceland was the highlight of our trip, you have to be an Elvis fan to really enjoy Memphis. We also saw Sun Studios, Beale Street, Elvis's statue downtown, the MS river, and the Civil Rights Museum... Memphis is a big city and my seem/look unsafe, but overall driving down Elvis Presley Blvd. was awesome!

Not worth the drive

I went to Memphis recently and I was generally disappointed.
On the bright side, the Memphis Zoo is nice and definitely worth the time and money.
Being in Memphis, I felt like I had to eat at the Rendezvous. It was average, but disappointing because I went in with very high expectations.
