  • Something for everyone
    By smz973, 09/21/05
Charleston has something to offer for every type of visitor. There are beautiful restored and preserved homes (our favorite was the Nathaniel Russell House and Drayton Hall northeast of Charleston off Rt 61), great galleries and markets (check out the outdoor market on N/S Market Street), and some lovely inns and hotels (we stayed at the ...

  • Always a pleasure to go back to
    By lmb7775, 09/16/05
I beleive Charleston has got to be the most beautiful place in the United States. I lived there for a few years right downtown about two blocks form the citadel. There is so much to do and see there.

The beaches are some of the best around, for instance there is Isle of Palms, Daniels Island, Folly beach and Kiawah Island just to mention a few. ...

    By shrlysdlr, 09/16/05
the owners(michael, sandy, alexandra,& little michael purro) are also the operators & they treat you like family.the movies, food, service,& fellowship are magnificent. in the strip mall where south windemere cinemas is located, there are all kinds of specialty shops & restaurants.i would drive to charleston just to visit this theatre even without the beach & other attractions. i could find nothing to complain about.by the we live five(5) hours away.

  • Walking the Battery
    By Richard K, 09/14/05
On a hot summer day, you can almost hear the voices of the past as you walk along the Battery in Charleston, SC. The cicadas strive noisely to drown out the sound of the boats on the bay, the children crying in the heat and the murmur of the lovers walking hand in hand. The breeze from the bay wakens the spirit and refreshes the lungs as you ...

  • Sullivan's Island, SC- A Beach to Grow Up On
    By knordlof, 08/31/05
Sullivan's Island SC is an idyllic beach community setting just a few miles from Charleston metro. The drive there is easy - we have a great new bridge- and there is ample parking that is clearly marked for beach visitors. After exiting your vehicle, it is just a short walk to the beach, or Heaven as I like to call it.
    The beach itself is ...

  • Great small city by the sea
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/05
Charleston is a wonderful place to visit. It retains much of its early charm. There are nice places to sit and relax, things to see, shopping and of course eating (I recommend Sticky Fingers for great pork ribs). If you are fortunate you may see dolphins in the harbor while taking a rest.

Hot and muggy in the summer, an excellent time to ...

  • The most beautiful city in the US !!
    By mskeeko, 08/15/05
I used to live in Charleston years ago and keep coming back to visit. There is so much to do there.
A visit to Magnolia Gardens is a MUST !!
Great restaurants are everywhere but if you like great seafood at a great price eat at Hyman's Seafood Restaurant at 215 Meeting Street. Bubba Gump's is also an enjoyable experience.
