  • Beautiful and quaint city!!!
    By Camden O, 05/04/08
I love Providence!!! So much has changed since I had last saw it. Back then, it was a dark city with a dead downtown. Now, you could never have imagined it as being dead! It has a wonderful art scene, guess having the nations #1 art school will give you a boost. The restaraunts are amazing. Providence has the most restaraunts per capita than any ...

  • The tiny state with a huge heart
    By BP, 06/18/07
I loved this area - I found the area very inviting, the area restaurants and hotels exceptionally affordable, and the people were happy to provide service in any capacity. I found the hotel staff very educated and professional, yet still very inviting and warm.

  • 2nding al forno's reputation
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 01/25/07
i commemorated my first semester at grad school with an indulgent trip to al forno under the pretenses that it was the best restraunt in town. my boyfriend and i got there early and were seated immediatley although it took for ever just to get some water on our table and our drink order taken. they have an extensive wine list with decently priced ...

  • Defending Rhode Island - Misinformation Run Amuck
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 09/29/06
There is a LOT of negative and unfair reviews here. My wife and I were born and raised in NY and recently moved to RI (at age 34) with our children. We are licensed professionals and have traveled extensively. Providence is a wonderful small city with a wealth of history, an emerging art scene bolstered by one of the nations top design schools, and ...

  • Dump
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 09/09/06
I lived in NYC for a big chunk of my life. And they say New Yorkers are rude. But nobody in these United States is as rude as people from Rhode Island. You really need to live here a while to appreciate the depth of it. Residents are short tempered and flat-out mean. Why, I don't know.

Rhode Islanders are the worst drivers in the ...

  • jackhammer = headaches!!!
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 08/04/06
I found the city of Providence interesting and particularly enjoyed the DUCK tour!

However, the prices for the downtown hotels were excessive for mid-week, particulary for what one got at the Holiday Inn on Atwell street!

I was told that the pool and spa at the Holiday Inn downtown were available to use and they had a shuttle service to the ...

  • Dining at Gracie's
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/30/06
With over 70 restaurants in the Providence area alone, it often seems hard to choose a place to dine that tops all others: a true star among the local chefs and overall dining experience. Look no further, because the brightest star definitely shines at Gracies on Washington street in downtown Providence. In a large "loft" style space, ...

  • Beautiful city to visit
    By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/01/06
Providence is a wonderful city to visit -- with some of the most beautiful architecture from the 1700s preserved on its East Side, near Brown University. There are tons of restaurants, thanks to all the Johnson & Wales grads. Restaurants tend to be pricey, but a refreshing change from the chain restaurants you find in other cities. Federal Hill ...
