The best part about Philly is south street. Loved the who vibe and cozy feeling of it. Also the liberty bell area was nice. We took a trolley tour bus and it was really convient so we didn't have to do a lot of walking. I would defintely go back. Only part that wasn't that good is Chinatown.

Philadelphia vs other cities
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/12/09
We love to travel and have spent a good amount of time in many cities - Philly is by far the dirtiest and everyone from the security guards to the woman cleaning the bathroom was rude. Yes, there are some amazing historical buildings and great museums, but you get both of those in DC where people are happier. I'd got back to Chicago, NY, Toronto, Boston, even LA before I go to Philly again.
There are many hidden treasures in Philadelphia that are not written about in the travel books. I have come across a site that gives you Philadelphia in a local perspective. I'm a former world traveler and has always enjoy exploring cities in a different perspective.
That's what I love about this city. I have lived here for all four years of college at Temple University and have loved every minute of it. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is a must do. First Friday in Olde City is fun too. I took a Mural Arts Tour last week to see what the fuss about public art is. AMAZING. You have to see how many murals there are in this city!! Love Philly, even for it's faults.
I don't know what it is about Philly...maybe its the old world architecture, or the great food, or the urban flair but I just love visiting here. October 2008 was my second visit and I loved it all over again! We saw the crazy Philly fans for the World Series and that was something to see!! The people were so happy to win, and the city was so alive. I will be back in April of this year!!
I have absolute contempt for about 80% of this city's people. Loser mentality on the street, the politics and on the sports field. The other 20% are the greatest people I have ever met.
The problem is I wish the percentages were reversed.

This is not NYC!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/23/08
I read everything about Philadelphians being rude...are you telling me people arent rude and dont drive rude or ignorantly in NYC, Boston, or DC? The city may be dirty outside of downtown, but who visits there? Nowhere in the country are there more colonial and historic sights to see in one city. The Art museum is one of the most respected in the ...
I went to both Philly and NYC last summer. While I loved NY, I found Philly to be VERY intriguing and unique. This city has so much soul and great history. I am definetly a city girl at heart. Unlike NY, I got a true feel for the culture from locals who reside there. The food was awesome! I had my first authentic philly cheesesteak on South Street ...

City of Brotherly Shove
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/11/08
I have lived in several large cities, including San Francisco, Chicago, Indianapolis, Boston and San Diego. I have visited every state in the nation and every major city. Philadelphia is by far the dirtiest, rudest, most corrupt and least cared for major city I have visited. I don't really understand the rudeness and absence of willingness to ...

embarrassed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/10/08
I live in Filthadelphia and am very embarrassed for people who actually take vacations here. The city is incredibly dirty and filled with attitude. I enjoy a select few restaurants and the music venues are unmatchable but compared to other cities in the US it's really falling to shambles and crime. The entry fee to monuments and tours which ...
