I booked a tour to Mt Hood with Eco Tours. It was reasonably priced compared to similar tours, the guide was extremely knowledgeable, and there were many great stops along the way. If you are looking for a great day seeing and learning alot about the area, I highly recommend this tour.

It was GREAT. What a find - very reasonable price. Our guide was professional and knowledgeable about the local area. The wineries and the surrounding landscape were spectacular.

Weather ruins it

Portland is a fun little town growing too fast for it's own good. There is a lot of scenery still around and neat outdoor type things to do. The coast is beautiful, bt for looking only. Cold water. merciless waves. Downtown Portland is pretty (mm, but not crime free!) with several fine restaurants, but DON'T expect anything too ...

Living in Portland
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/25/07
I came across this site and thought I'd throw a couple thoughts in. I spent 8 years living in Portland and recently moved. As I reflect back, Portland is a pretty convenient city to live in with an efficient clean airport. I probably spend an extra hour to hour&half now for air travel. Also I kind of miss the ease of getting into and ...

Nice, but.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/11/07
Loved Rose Garden and lots of parks, but agree that Portland has attitude, especially at Powell's Bookstore and some eating establishments. Having been in San Francisco, I found the "we're hip and you're not" vibe laughable. Definitely green and proud of it, to the point of being irritating. But I did get a kick out of the ...

Fabulous Place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/10/07
Loved it. I have been in the Bay Area for years, totally overlooking Portland with the bias that it was rinky dink. Imagine my surprise when a convention finally brought me out to Portland and I was amazed by what I found. Certainly seems like Portland can be a well-kept secret!
The city's vegetation is just magnificent and pervasive. ...
The weather was great. No rain. We enjoyed the sights and evening walks. The food was great also. We visited the Chinese Garden and Saturday Market. The rides and beautiful homes was very interesting. We plan to return not during a conference.

what a beautiful hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/19/07
this is the best hotel i have been before? Everthing is splendid and strongly pretty. Server is perfect. And atmostphere is very convenient. Hope you have the same nice time here. Many thanks for your attention
What made Portland unique 5 or 10 years ago has all but gone. The views of the mountains and rivers are being sold off to gross over development. "Hip" has turned to "painfully aware that we're hip". The crazy and quirky locals have been displaced. There aren't enough police. The state and city can't ...
i love this place so much !!! i could spend hours downtown Portland without being bored :) This city is unique not because of the population but because of the atmosphere. There's nothing better than walking under the rain in Portland
