Santa Fe is very compact for a state capital-very walkable, no traffic issues. Hotels are very good, service friendly and there are restaurants for all budgets. Shopping is terrific-every shop operator seems to be honest and proud of his wares! The sellers under the "Palace Walkway" are top notch artists of all sorts: honest and fair. Enjoyed it all, very much.
Santa Fe was named as one of the twelve distinctive destinations by National Trust for Historic Preservation for 2009. And you can feel that as soon as you enter the city. Read more at
Great snowboarding, beautiful scenery, close to Albuquerque, very rich in Native American culture. You'll love the atmosphere, in some ways it's very historic and for those who love gambling, the casinos are convienently close.
While it is a little difficult to get to Santa Fe (you have to fly to Albequerque then drive), it's well worth the trip. We have stayed in the Inn of the Governors right in town and Bishop's Lodge a little way out of town. Both are equally luxurious and pleasant. Albuquerque is the ...

Santa Fe is so "thick" with Old Santa Fe ambience, I find the best way to really feel part of the City Different is to stay in a vacation rental that offers that Santa-Fe-Style ambience. Best area? Near Canyon Road so you can easily have walking access to that incredible mile stretch of art galleries, shops, and restaurants. Try a search on "walk to canyon road" to find suitable vacation rental.
Gosh Santa Fe is a great city. It in my opinion is one of the most beautiful places in America. I think that everyone should experiance this town. Downtown is a bit crowed but it is so lively and enchanting. A sense of old in a modern world. Albuquerque is an ok place but offers not half the beauty and elegance of Santa Fe I would much rather live ...
Santa Fe is truely unique - in a very good way! The food, architecture, and people you'll meet there are unlike those you will meet anywhere else. Although the surrounding area is similar to many other cities, the heart of Santa Fe, the Old Town Plaza, shows off some of Santa Fe's history, and the history of the Southwest in ...
