Boston was, until 1755, the biggest city in America; as the one most directly affected by the latest whims of the British Crown, it was the natural birthplace for the opposition that culminated in the Revolutionary War. Please come here and enjoy a nice surprise.
I just got back from my vacation in NYC and Boston, as well as other parts of New England. We stayed in Boston for 7 days, in the beginning of September. My first initial impression, I had thought it was going to be boring compared to NYC, where we spent a few days before. I had also thought the people seemed not too friendly. But after the 2nd day ...
Boston is a beautiful city full of history, culture and scenery. It's probably one of the best cities to go to pro sports in. The one thing that bugged me was the people weren't the friendliest I've ever met, but I've heard that's true for most of the East Coast.

The best place ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/29/08
My first time at boston, i had a lot of fun, a lot of nice places, culture, nice people.
Hi, for a lifelong resident, besides the cold of winter, I love this place. I live in Cambridge... known by sarcastic local's as the people's republic. Everyone has a voice in this city and the culture reflects it. Our course out of curiosity I've done the touristy things (duck tours, visited the tallest buildings Prudential & ...

Nice for a short weekend trip
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/14/08
Boston's a good place to go for a weekend- everything is walkable and if you get tired you can take the subway (T). A weekend is enough though- more than that you run out of things to do since it's a small city. Well, unless you like shopping then you can be there forever if you're not from a big city.

Boston has this old world charm I only found in Europe. Its streets are narrow and crooked and unlike New York the sidewalks are not very wide. But next to a foot wide sidewalk is a huge skyscraper and next to the skyscraper is a building built by settlers. Its amazing that the city planners kept such history intact and moved the city in a modern ...

Beautiful but flawed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/10/08
Boston is a lovely city with lots to do and see. I have to agree with other reviewers regarding the rudeness of some of the residents. And the city is very segregated.

A Unique American City with Character and Charm
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/02/07
Boston stands out from the more modern and cookie-cutter cities of the rapidly growing Southeast and Southwest. Boston is steeped in character, history, and European-style charm and offers a much broader and diverse range of activities and experiences than the typical American city.
Walking is the only way to see Boston. Driving should never ...
