I live in central Florida and the weather/humidity is the same. I stayed in the Hilton on Poydras and it was only 4 blocks from Canal street but could have been in the middle of nowhere. Very quiet and good hotel. The smell of mild sewage and something else hit us when we went downtown and then the weather turned cloudy and cool and never ...
My husband and I just got back from a weekend trip to New Orleans. It was our very first visit and I have to say that this city is absolutely disgusting. We stayed at a hotel in the French Quarter. The hotel itself was bad, but since the purpose of this review is to write about the city, I will refrain from talking about it and continue on about ...

I reserved my room a week in advance. I had fast, friendly service upon arrival. Hotel is in a great location. The first night, I was awakened at 3:30 AM because my Air Conditioner was making a loud noise and was vibrating the room. I tried to ignore it and simply made a comment to the front desk the next morning. Nothing was fixed and the ...

While having enormous amounts of fun, you're liable to be repeatedly struck by the divisions between rich and poor (and, more explicitly, between white and black). Even so, the city's vitality and joie de vivre are real, buffeted but not ...
I was recently in New Orleans (which of course I'll call NOLA from now on) to shoot an independent film, and can honestly say I had the most unforgettable experience of my life. The brutally humid climate affects every aspect of your being; as a hard-edged New Yorker I couldn't believe that within a day of landing I could barely get myself ...
