I was recently in New Orleans (which of course I'll call NOLA from now on) to shoot an independent film, and can honestly say I had the most unforgettable experience of my life. The brutally humid climate affects every aspect of your being; as a hard-edged New Yorker I couldn't believe that within a day of landing I could barely get myself ...

Falling in love with New Orleans...
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 05/02/08
Since I was a kid, I had always dreamed of going to New Orleans for some reason, so part of me was devastated when the city was hit hard by Katrina.
2 years later, me and a couple of friends made a quick stop in NOLA during spring break '07, and I fell in love with the city so much that I went back during winter time and had the time of my ...

A fun vacation spot
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 04/20/08
I'd put New Orleans on that list of fun places to party vacation spots, like Las Vegas, San Diego, San Antonio and Orlando. Really awesome restaurants and nightlife. You really have to be careful, though, this city has a high crime rate. I've been here before and after Katrina and I'm noticing that it's slowly starting to recover, which I'm happy to see.

I lived there before Katrina hit and just went back for Mardi Gras 08'. We had a blast and took along my lil niece and my grandmother. Wow were surprised by the safety and police that was put in place they were awesome. New Orleans is starting to thrive once more. I miss living there but will go back time and time again!!
