Lexington is a nice place to visit, but not a great place to live unless you are a religious conservative and a huge college sports fan. The people all talk about either UK sports or their churches and the activities surrounding those.
The downtown is walkable, but doesn't actually have more than a few blocks worth of stores. Chevy chase ...

An exercise in dichotomy
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/31/05
As a lifelong resident of 25 years, I speak from experience. Lexington has nearly doubled in size since I was born and the feverish growth only continues. Great shopping can be found and fabulous restaurants abound. A small city where old money and new money collide, this place is an exercise in dichotomoy. Urban and rural, black and white, ...

Home sweet home

After traveling around the country with the military Ive found that Lexington offers the best of both world with the small town charm found in rural America and the big city life found in urban America without the high crime rates and endless traffic jams.

Lexington, Go Wildcat
By Plymal, 06/22/06
We enjoyed Lexington, we stayed at the convention center in the Hyatt. We really enjoyed the hotel breakfast and the bar was even more fun. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Enjoy Lexington, hopefully I will be able to spend some time there other than business.

Definitely a college town at its best. This city with 300,000 friendly people is both liberal and progressive. It has a city wide smoking ban, reliant public tranporation and a surprisingly vibrant gay scene. Lexington has many ethnic restaurants and the cleanest downtown I have ever visited. Pick up one of the many FREE publications in the ...

Just Passing Through
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 05/02/05
I was just passing through Lexington, but I loved what I saw. Being a horse person, I enjoyed the omnipresent touches of horseracing, from the paintings in the hotel room to Man o' War Avenue, and the simple beauty of the place is better than big-city glamour any day.

Simply a great place to visit!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 07/10/05
A visit to Lexington includes the view of acres of lush rolling hills behind the border of white and black horse farm fences. Horse farm tours are available! A portion of Sea Biscuit was filmed at Calumet Horse Farm. Aw, but Lexington is more... the home of the University of Kentucky Wildcats, (their basketball team is always ranked in the top ...

For the value it is an excellent business hotel with all the amenities you need. In the evening a manager's reception where you can relax and unwind, and the breakfast is wonderful each morning. The rooms are layed out well, and work well for travelers who need more than just a bed. We stay there at least 4 or 5 times a year when in the area, and can highly recommend.

Vanities Spa!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 08/11/05
"WOW" is all I can say. I walked in feeling a bit apprehensive since this was my first visit to a spa. I sat down and filled out a consultation form and was amazed at all the questions. The owner, Nancy, took me back to the treatment room for my first facial ever. I changed into the 'spa wrap' and snuggled into one of the most ...
