We visited the Thyme Remembered Tea Room in Perry - less than 1 hour NW of Des Moines. What a find!! This is a large old house converted to a boutique with a wonderful place for lunch or just Tea & Dessert!

There are a vast variety of hotels here in Des Moines. You can go cheap or spend alot but there is something for everyone.

Des Moines is a great place with a lot to offer. Adventureland is a kid favorite and not bad for adults too. If you can ever make it for the State Fair(August) I highly recommend it!!! FANTASTIC! Living History Farms, the list goes on and on.

Everywhere in Des Moines takes 20 mins to get to. The interstate running through plays a great convenience to time management. Downtown is becoming more chic by the year.
