Indianapolis is so awsome! The down town is amazing! Some surrounding areas are a bit shoddy, but the city is awsome. Steak and Shake is the best! Never thought there was so much to do here. Indianapolis Motor Speedway, NCAA Hall of Champions, Worlds largest childrens museam, Indinia state museam, indian museam, sports (rca dome will soon be ...

Best place to live!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/06
I live in one of the most under appriceated states in america, Indiana. I might not live in Indy but I live about 20 minutes away and every time I come down to Indy to go to the mall or to pick up someone from the airport, I'm always welcomed with all the hospitallity in the world(if you were wondering, I live in a little town north of Indy ...

Real story
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/22/06
What's up with the negativity of the prior 2 posts? While it's true that Indy has historically had an inferiority complex, that has changed in recent years. Most people who live here tout everything great about the city. I mean, I can find plenty of things about NYC and London I don't like. Fact is, most people who actually VISIT ...

Hate living here
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/20/06
Summers are short and humid. The cold, grey, ugly winter never seems like it will never end. There's rarely even enough snow to make things pretty or interesting. Just ugly grey and cold.
Public transportation is terrible.
There isn't any train/subway system at all. Only busses. Bus service is unpredictable and sparse, ...
I love Indianapolis because it is home. I have traveled to many cities, but Indianapolis is the best! Everything is in walking distance, there's canal downtown, a zoo, malls, museums, the Colts... just everything! Also my city is one of the cleanest ones I have encountered as well. It's a wonderful getaway!

Fun
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/20/06
Fun but simple. cheap and conveinent. If you are downtown you can pretty much walk anywhere. The only problem is a weak public transit system, other than that there should be enough fun for everyone, except teens.

Dull with a capital "D"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/18/06
Clean, nice city. Good people, but very slow and B O R I N G. If you like a clean average city that always feels safe, you can't really go wrong. It's hard to say much bad about Indianapolis, although the RCA Dome is horrible and noisy. The city sort of lacks an identity, but at least you feel safe here.

Indy mini Marathon - a BIG deal!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/09/06
I loved Indy because of the size of the place, the ease of getting around the city - especially if you are not from the area, or even from the state!
Came for a half-marathon and enjoyed a great time at a local jazz club. Very nice. Good food in town, good nightlife too.
Very easy to get in and out of town - we actually stayed out of town about 30 minutes, but was a sinch to get access to all we needed to.
Will go again!

I was bored!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/02/05
I was so bored when I was here. There really is not much to do at all. The downtown is dead, and there was not much to do anywhere else. I was happy to leave! Sorry Indy...

Reply to CA from Indy resident

So obviously the 4 cities you prefer are on coasts. SD, SF, NY, Boston. I like those cities a lot, but it is a little unfair to try to compare Indy to NYC, don't you think? I lived in London for a while and, guess what, Indy doesn't have as much going on as London.
However, I have friends who come in from the coasts, including those ...
