Indianapolis is a nice getaway for a family with small kids. The Children's Museum and Zoo are off the chain, kids will love them both. The zoo is modern and easy to access and the museum keeps them entertained for hours. Traffic is not a problem at all in Indianapolis, and it's clean and relatively safe. Overall Indy is kind of southern ...

You know, many dont realize it, but Indianapolis is one of the largest cities in the nation! It boasts around 800,000-850,000 people. Very affordable and convienient. I live in New York, but Indianapolis has some of the same qualities. The new stadium will someday host the super bowl! I'll be sure to go. The hotels are excellent adn the food is ...
Likes: urban atmosphere, good restaurants, easy freeway access, lack of traffic, duckpin bowling at Atomic..dislikes: not a whole lot to do an an ordinary day (on days with festivals, 500, etc it is vibrant)..small skyline (even smaller than Columbus, OH), questionable crime rate
I found Indianapolis to be quite boring. In fact, I planned to spend the weekend there, but came back a day earlier because there was nothing to do. The downtown scene was okay, but lacking in any identity or culture, just seemed kind of bland. I think that Indy's numberous republican conservatives have way too much influence on the city, and ...
I have lived in San Francisco for the past 8 years, but I was born and raised in Indianapolis where I spent about 23 years of my life. I go back to Indianapolis regularly to visit family and friends.
Indianapolis reached a low point in the mid-1970's, but since the mid-1980's it has been experiencing a renaissance. The revitalization ...

Man this place is so boring. I'd hate to get stuck, or worse yet live here. There are like a few restaurants downtown, and not much shopping at all.

it is where I live! it is an alright place. The city is pretty. the night life needs more activity. the city is very hyper
Incredible city, it has a beautiful compact downtown that can entertain people of all ages. Nightlife is great, attractions are cool such as the childrens museum, indy motor speedway, zoo, conner prairie etc. The pacers and colts games are alot of fun, and safety is not an issue. Transportation will not be a problem.

As a Californian moving to INDY- be careful of a few things: Don't tell them you are from California, they will call you an elitist; be careful buying your house, you will probably lose money and/or not be able to sell it afterwards; remember, people move there because it is "cheap", but think about it- there are not many businesses, shops, restaurants, entertainment etc in places where people do not want to spend money.
If you are looking for a fast pace City, Indy isn't the place for you. BUT if you are looking for a nice clean place where the people are friendly, you can afford to buy a house and not deal with rush hour traffic 24 hours a day, then INDY is the place. I am a native califorian, born and raised in LA. I can't wait to get out of here. I ...
