The best way to see Yale (if you are a causal sight-seer like me) is to go for one of the Guided Walking tours. This free tour starts are the Visitor's center and a student guide shows you all the important stuff - the architecture and the history narration are very interesting. For vegetarian food, I definitely recommend Corner-Copia, very near the campus.

worst place I ever lived!
By anyabargh, 06/09/07
New Haven is the worst place I've ever lived. For four years I lived in the East Rock neighborhood, where the taxes are astronomical and most of the houses are in the $500-$1 million range, yet there were still muggings and robberies all the time on our street. New Haven's crime problem is definately not limited to the projects- so watch ...

Check it Out...
By cunhad1981, 08/08/06
As a New Haven native..I can see the transformation the city has undergone over the last five years or so. Growing up in the 80's-early 90's, a lot of people stayed away from the city as crime, blight and general urban decay made it less than desirable. However, the efforts of Yale as well as the community at large have breathed new life ...

New restaurant Kudeta offers great food!
By Lauren S, 06/06/06
Kudeta is a new asian restaurant that has opened across from the Amalfi Grill and the Criterion Movie theater. The food is fantastic (Chinese, Malaysian, Thai and Japanese) and the atmosphere is unmatched by any restaurant in New Haven. Ibiza and Roomba better watch out, a new top restaurant is in town!
Also, I recommend Temple Grill where you ...

Safe, Cool, Little City
By Mike, 01/25/06
Alot has been said about crime in and around the New Haven area. Yes, there is crime in the projects. yes, New Haven does have a bad section or two (the Hills, Science Park, by the boulevard) but there is nothing of interest there anyway. The center of New Haven, where Yale is located, is filled with restaurants and history. If you feel like ...

Best small city in the U.S.
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 12/20/05
Has as much culture as most cities 10 times its size. Downtown is very walkable, pedestrian-friendly, with beautiful architecture. You don't need to depend on your car. Great restaurants, lots to see and do. Plus, it is affordable and only an hour drive from New York City. They always say NY is a great place to visit, but not to live. So live ...

A college town on the upswing
By janeefowle, 10/01/05
People used to say that New Haven would be just like Bridgeport if we didn't have Yale University. These days, New Haven has tons of new restaurants, shops, and small businesses. Many of the downtown areas have been redone, making living and visiting New Haven a very pleasureable experience. There is always a lot to do, whether you are young or ...

New Haven - what its all about . . .
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 09/26/05
New Haven, CT. It has a little bit of everything! Centrally located on the shoreline of CT, it's where I-91 meets I-95 with a connection to Rte. 34 and Rte. 1 you can get anywhere from here! Great parks, Yale University, the Peabody museum - hey? anybody hungry yet? There's pizza (the best anywhere) and Thai food, soul food, comfort ...

So-so and not a lot to do
By marcinot2004, 09/26/05
Its pretty much a college town; however, even Yale University does not help its image. Downtown New Haven is not very clean and many of the neighborhoods are unsafe, especially at night.
On a positive note, it does have many fine restaurants and some of its pizza establishments are known far and wide. There doesn't appear to be much in ...

Some small place where you know everyone
By Subrato, 09/26/05
Well this city is so small that you can walk from one end to other in less than 2 hours. But due to presence of Yale University, things are better off. The places to have lunch or dinner are pretty good but some of them are really just expensive. Overand all this place is not bad to stay for a while. If you like slow life, this is the place for you.....
