We got screwed by the Telluride.com reservation service. They had an offer of one free night with two paid. Instead the reservation web page would only allow small lift ticket deduction. Stay in nearby towns to avoid the economic impact. Ouray has hot springs, ice park, and great stores. Not quite as uppity as t-ride but just as cool!

Walk or take the gondola everywhere! No stoplights. I first went there in 1986 to ski. Didn't get back for a few years but in the last 15 have been there probably 20 times. I love Telluride. Not everything about it, but no place in the world is perfect.
a) I love the activities such as skiing, biking, hiking, jeeping, fishing, snowshoeing. There are tons of trails and passes. The ski are is top notch, and so its also pretty expensive, but that keeps away a lot of tourists (no offense ppl)

well I live down valley and it seems its allways under construction. Will it ever end. I shop there and it seems a bit too dirty..Had it not been for the lady with the tiny black poodle I would say Telluride is a dump. And I can verify that with locale opinion.

The town of Telluride (not the Village) is not only one of the greatest views of all time but the feel is relaxed and friendly. Free gondolas in the summer make it easy for even those unable to do the great hikes to see the breath taking views.

Absolutely sensational at all times of year. The town is a gem that has retained its ski-bum fun side as the town has developed. Hiking during the Summer is great. Mountain Village is all new development, but it works well. If you fly into Denver, you're in for quite a drive to get to Telluride, but it's worth it -- truly, one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen!
