La Jolla is a beautiful little village - with a high price tag. Be sure to bring your credit card and a fistful of money. If you are looking for a nice meal that's moderately priced, try FRESH. Great service, smaller portions. Looking for pub grub? Head to the local Karl Strauss Brewery Restaurant - great microbrewery suds on tap and great ...
La Jolla is a beautiful place to go but with the traffic and parking hard to come by, your good mood might just fly out your car window. If you want to go swimming and not have to fight for space on the beach, go elsewhere (PB or OB are good). Restaurants and shopping centers are everywhere but be ready to shell out some cash. The service also ...
La Jolla is San Diego's sparkling jewel with several distinct and distinctive beaches along seven miles of coast against a backdrop of rolling hills and the shoreline consists of rocky headlands separated by coves and sand beaches.
The Children's Pool — a small cove protected by a man-made breakwater — is close to downtown La Jolla. ...
Have been there several times. Although most of the shops are pricey, bargains can still be found. Loved the scenery, strolling the sidewalks, Tea at the Valencia, going to the art galleries, lunch at a quaint restaurant in the Cove, etc. Its total emersion for me. I go by myself and have a great time. La Jolla never lets me down. Over the ...

La Jolla is still a nice little town, but it has changed a lot in the last twenty years. When I first moved to San Diego, La Jolla was really a village, a lot like Carmel. There were small prix fix restaurants, nice little shops and the residents could be found walking thier own streets. Growth has been a little unkind to La Jolla. The traffic ...
In the spring of 2005 we visited the La Jolla beach with my neice and her family. They had previously lived there and took us on a quick tour of the beautiful seaside city. (We were in a traveling time crunch). The beach is lined with nice walking areas along the seawall with steps leading down to the sand. The vegetation and landscaping ...
There was nothing to dislike. If you enjoy fine dining, a mature atmosphere with class, and you aren't afraid to spend money; La Jolla is the place. La Jolla has everything art, ice cream, candy (carmel apples), Hard Rock Cafe, and George's, the Thai Kitchen is wonderful too, golf, SHOPPING SHOPPING SHOPPING, and if McDonald's is your ...

Boring.... lacks vitality
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/19/05
The beach was lovely... but I'm sorry to say that I found this town stuffy and boring. There isn't much cultural diversity and it lacked interesting alternative retail and ethnic restaurant choices. It didn't have much historic atmosphere or community spirit either.
Next time I come down this way, I'll stay in San Diego somewhere.
