The Men's Faculty Club at the University of California at Berkeley can get a little loud. The noise from the reception on the patio drift to the upper floor bedrooms. However, my wife and I simply put on our I-pod headphones and all was blissful.

Different strokes for different folks...

Berkeley has its charms, no doubt. And I go there alot for different things that are only there. But....
I think its fair to say that if you lean towards the "suburban-style" that Berkeley can be frustrating. The traffic is tough because the roads are small and crowded-- pretty much always. Parking? Forget about it. I usually end up ...

A Thoroughly Enjoyable Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/24/06
My sister attends school at UC Berkeley, and my brother will be going there next fall, so I have been there on numerous trips. It is a very outgoing place, with everything nearby - the campus is beautiful, the parks and walkways are always a good way to pass the time, and a great place to people-watch. Anyone can fit in there. I must warn you ...

It's not all that great.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/05
Berkeley is a very overrated town, not really what I expected. Actually, the only reason I went was just to see how liberal this city actually was. The answer, not very progressive at all. Just a bunch of coffee shops and music stores. Pretty much like any other supposed "liberal" city in the country. Just looks like everywhere else! Had some pretty cool little shops there though, but you can get that anywhere.

Berkeley is Berkeley--a must see for Bay Area visitors
By tjm402, 11/13/05
Just go and check it out. Most love it, some hate it, but it is a very interesting and vibrant place. Berkeley is always worth the 20 minute trip from the city. I always feel particularly alive when I am there. I think almost anyone would find something of interest to them. Just get some coffee and walk around in the morning and enjoy the atmosphere, if nothing else.
While in the San Francisco bay area,a nice side trip to Berkeley is always a good idea. One morning we hopped on the Bart subway system and rode under the bay--destination University of California at Berleley. What fun,for 2.50$ each way the trip was more than worth it.First of all the subway trains are amazingly neat and clean, just like your ...

I loved all of it, if yo want an in your face experience that shows you the value of culture and society. Berkeley is it. I enjoyed all the food, Telegraph St. on the weekend is a must see as well as the famous People's Park.
Great spirits in this area, seems to be the home of green thinking. Bravo.

Berkely is the best place to go and be more than just your self. You will discover things about your self that you didn't even know. You can create memories, learn, eat great food, meet interesting people, and have an over all fun time. I hope more people can see berkely as I do.
