  • Not sure what's so great about it??
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/09/07
We visited Flagstaff for the first time this year and it will be the last. I don't know what the hype is about this city. It's neither quaint nor charming. The sprawl there is quite shocking. Lots of chain stores and Wal-Marts to choose from. The roads are under major construction and inconvenient. The old town is cool enough but ...

  • Depends on Your Tastes
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/10/07
I have been living in Flagstaff for two years attending the University. After moving here from the Washington DC area, I have this to say.

    PROS:
Flagstaff is a beautiful town with wonderul scenary surrounding this mountain spot. The downtown reminds me of an older city and is easy to navigate. Outdoor recreation is plentiful and with over 300 ...

  • Swede loves Flag
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/23/07
I spent some time in Flag in 2006, attending the NAU spring term. I L-O-V-E absolutely love Flagstaff. Its the most beautiful place I've ever seen (possibly compeeting with some spots in the Holy land of Israel) The people are so sweet and open & truly friendly. The sun is out everyday!!!! ( Not a common thing for a poor Scandinavian ...

  • A fantastic city.
    By Amanda, 01/14/07
Flagstaff is a clean, environmentally friendly, progressive city. It's small enough to provide a hometown feel, and large enough to have an active nightlife, as well as several other things to fill your days.

The people we encountered were incredibly friendly and willing to help with deciding where to stay and where to visit after leaving Flagstaff. I can't wait to go back.

  • Overnight in the Train Station
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/30/06
Although it was a few years ago this happened I can still remember the courtesy of the station master at the A.T. and SF train station. Due to unfortunate events farther up the tracks our train was delayed for very long time and we spent the night in the train station. The station master stayed there the entire night with us and in the morning it ...

  • My heaven on Earth
    By sfm533, 05/21/06
I was born in Tucson and never knew that such beauty existed anywhere in Arizona. Unless your taste run along finding beauty in the desert, and there is nothing wrong with that. Just different taste, but my truth is that I find beauty in rich green Pines, (not the shriveled up dry ones I see some times), in the blue sky's that radiate big white ...

  • Terrible experiences in Flagstaff
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/31/05
Two of my three trips through Flagstaff have been a nightmare. My trip through Arizona this past September, I deliberately avoided Flagstaff and drove further to stay in Williams, which was a very nice experience.

Two years ago, I stayed at the Red Roof Inn on E. Lucky Lane. The first room I was given had a loose door to the adjoining room. ...

  • Not What We Thought
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/05
I had been to Flagstaff many many times as a visitor and finally decided to move to the area. I was very disappointed in the people of Flagstaff. The weather and scenery and environment were beyond belief but the people left a lot to be desired.

They were very judgemental and critical of the new people in town and visitors. They were very ...

  • Breathtaking
    By Virgy, 10/03/05
The whole Flagstaff area is magnificent! I very deeply appreciate the attention given to preservation of the past. The history here is deep and it was wonderful to have SO many places which make the point of sharing the rich culture and history. I found the people to be kind, friendly, and very helpfull. This experience moved me so much that I am considering moving into the area.

  • reason why I live here
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/14/05
It's a hub city for various Northern AZ attractions. Mountain high and trees aplenty. Various clubs, bars, venues available. The view is great and the city is inexpensive.
Overall welcoming attitude from the locals.
