  • birmingham is a city with no class
    By AdamT, 01/31/09
This city is filled with arrogant, ignorant rednecks. Clearly they have no class at all. If you must pass this way please look your doors and keep your children away from the windows!

  • Great place to live
    By TravisD, 06/07/08
I came here looking for a house for my parents to retire to and was very impressed. For starters, there are lots of new homes and they are verrrry reasonably priced. You can buy a (nice) new home here for 1/3 or 1/4 the price in Washington DC. The suburbs offer all the restaurants and shopping you can ask for. Downtown is blooming, and many cheap, ...

  • Great place to live
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/04/08
I've lived in Birmingham for quite some time. Downtown is pretty nice. Obviously not as impressive as other large cities, but it really does grow on you. The UAB soutside area is really booming.Impressive historic neighborhoods (highland, forest parks) are minutes from the city center. The real value of birmingham comes from its suburbs ...

  • Stars Fell on Alabama
    By FernandoP, 01/02/08
It is a big city!!! But it is not my style...things are slow here. There aren't any big attractions, so if you are a tourist looking for things to do - good luck...there are better places to go visit. I recommend taking a look at the Vulcan. Beautiful place to go see and learn about the history of Birmingham. Besides the Vulcan there isn't much to do...sorry Birmingham, I can only give you three stars.

  • Hotel to stay at while at UAB.
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/02/08
We stayed at the Sheraton which is a short drive to UAB. However we should have stayed at the Courtyard Marriot.
The Sheraton was a bit of a disappointment for being such a big Hotel.
    No free internet...It was $13 a day.
There was construction inside the Hotel.
And the elevators were scratched up and looked terrible.
    Our relatives were staying ...

  • A Wonderful Place!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/27/07
I have been living in Birmingham for nearly 14 years. I have traveled to many other cites around the country, and I am truly proud to call this wonderful city home. There are so many different attractions, and this city can entertain anyone. There is a wide variety of night life, while still remaining a very family oriented place. The food is ...

Birmingham also known as Magic City...as in the Magic City classic football game. It's ovbilously the most well rounded and cultural city in Alabama. Espically since it has UAB which is a very mutlicultural college. People from all over the world come to study there, they also have great student doctors there where you can reicve medical and ...

  • A good city
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/07
Overall, Birmingham is a good city providing various opportunities for education
and healthcare. While it is true that this city boasts the best parks, scenery, and business downtown, my only critcism is that the city needs more convenience. Other than that this is truly a great place to live, full of friendliness and southern hospitality.

  • If you like hot and spicy!
    By RenitaB, 08/09/07
Crazy Cajun Restaurant has authentic New Orleans/Louisiana Cuisine, as the owner is a native and LSU graduate. The decor is a taste of Mardi Gras with a sprinkle of all things Louisiana. The chef really brings home the flavor and spicy. You are sure to appreciate the casual dining experience. Crazy Cajun is a must when I am in the Birmingham area.
