  • Mazatlan review
    By Rose, 06/09/09
This was my first trip to Mazatlan, I wanted to give other first timers the truth about travel to Mazatlan. It is beautiful. There is not a lot to do there outside of beaches and a few tours. Overall we were disappointed in our trip. We have traveled all of the world. In Mexico Puerto Vallarta (Nuevo Vallarta) is more fun a lot more things to ...

  • Safer than the USA says it is!
    By Frndlyiam, 03/12/09
I've been to Mazatlan twice in the last month and it is incredible. Cheaper to fly into San Diego cross over yourself and catch a flight out of TJ. Way cheaper...Stayed at Solarmar Inn on one end for 3 days then La Siesta Inn on the other end of the beach for 2 days. Both a good value and a different atmosphere. A deff. must do is the 5 min ...

  • Beautiful but won't go back
    By Amie, 01/13/09
This is not the same experience you would get if you went to Cancun. There's not much to do outside of the beach or the tours that the different hotels offer you (e.g. City Tour, Stone Island Tour, etc.). The city is beautiful, but remember that the Pacific Ocean is a lot different than the Atlantic or the Gulf of Mexico. We spent most of our ...

  • The best deal south of the border
    By JamesC, 10/18/08
Likes: atmosphere (Pluaza Machado on the weekends, the market, malecon), beaches (Playa Bruja), food (Il Mosto, La Costa Marinera, Mr Leonsa), fishing, sunsets, people, prices, laid back atmosphere.

    Dislikes: Ridiculous airfares from Vegas

Mazatlan isn't sanitized or commercialized like Cabo and Cancun. It's real and busy and ...

  • AMAZING CITY
    By NickS, 09/16/08
We went for 7 days for our honeymoon. We satyed in a resort in the golden district. The beach is beautifull, with warm water. The city is alot of fun. The Pullmonias (local ran taxis) are the best way to get around. you can get just about anywhere for about 5 bucks. The local beer is great, and cheep. the Seafood is amazing, I recomend eating lunch ...

  • What part of Mexico did you go to.
    By Jim, 08/20/08
    Mazatlan. Hmmm.
I've read all of the other reviews posted here, and I wonder what part of Mexico you went to. Everything said in the reviews is mostly true. If! If, you stay in the Golden Zone and don't stray too far out of the tourist areas. The people are generally friendly and helpful but keep in mind they are charged with the ...

  • Wonderful Time
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/03/08
Out of any other place i've been to in Mexico Mazatlan has felt the safest. Not to mention everything is so convienently located, we rented a house in the Golden District and were only 3 blocks from the ocean. We went deep sea fishing while we were there 3 of the days and had so much fun, we caught a total of like 20 fish, all of them huge. ...

  • Already planning our trip back
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/14/08
My husband and I went to Mazatlan for our honeymoon. We loved everything. Most of all we loved that it was an authentic Mexican city. It was not overrun with businesses from the U.S. We loved the huge variety of locally owned restaurants and souvenir shops. We loved the beaches and all the activities. Also, everything was incredibly ...

  • Salsa and Salsa
    By Michael G Brown, 12/10/07
What a great experience. We were pleasantly greeted and served true margaritas. Throughout the excursion we learned to make 7 variations of salsa, 1 guacamole, and 3 authentic margaritas. Additionally we were exposed to the lessons of true salsa dancing. This was a great trip for the non-adventurous looking to relax and have a good time.
    Careful ...

  • Stone Island- Isla de la Piedra
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/17/07
Puerta Vallarta may be prettier to fly into but nothing beats going to Mazatlan and then staying on Stone Island, unless you want crowds of tourists. Beautiful , safe beach with great palapa restaurants and only 1 small clean and economical hotel( for the moment). Stone Island is a 10 minute ferry ride from Mazatlan- take the ferry closest to the ...
