Nice enough city with historical and cultural sights but the political situation is just too chaotic. I would give this country a miss for a couple of years.

Dont go to the Oasis cancun, we were moved to the Grand Oasis because of mold and mildew and stank smells. I loved Cancun! The hotels and beaches were top notch. The water is crystal blue and warm and the sand is soft and fine.

Of course, the place was built to promote tourism and it shows in the crowded stretch of hotels, the crowds on the beaches, the crowds at the various attractions and the price of just about everything. Expect to pay a premium ...

my husband, daughter and myself stayed at the oasis cancun (may 05). did anybody know that peacocks don't sleep! make sure you get a room that's directly on the ocean so you can sleep. motel was disgusting, loud, food was aweful, no doors on bathroom stalls in the lady's by the pool, you have to walk everywhere, your bracelet does not ...

Cancun itself is s very nice place with clear crystall water and water activities. It's the just the Mexicans out there trying to cheat you out of money, as if they think that Americans are stupid. Be careful how you spend your money. They will cheat you!

Recently returned from Cancun. We were the for 5 nights and stayed at the Gran Costa Real which was really nice. The beach was ok. The food and service was great.
