  • 3 months in Victoria - a non-Canadian/US take on it
    By Peter, 08/15/07
I'm from Ireland and have been living in Victoria for the past 3 months (I lived in Toronto 5 months prior to that).

    Pros:

    - Some pleasant sights, and the harbour is quite stunning at night, especially when viewed from Esquimalt (cross the Johnson St bridge to get there)

    - The Olympic mountains in the US serve as a nice backdrop as ...

  • Simply Astounding
    By Anne S, 07/22/07
We stayed at the Fairmont Empress, a must stay place for those wanting to experience the English side of life. The hotel was gorgeous, the people friendly, and the rooms immaculate. There are so many great places within walking distance including the government buildings. The ferry rides are fun too!

  • WHERE I WANT TO LIVE!
    By Judy, 09/19/06
My sister & I just returned from a lovely visit on Vancouver Island - we had been once before but were able to explore more this time. Victoria is a gorgeous city with an abundance of things to do & see. We especially loved Beacon Hill Park and Dallas Road & Beach Dr. Victoria would be a fantastic place to live (if I could afford ...

  • I love it from the bottom of my heart
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/19/06
I have been this city for two years. Though I have been away from it for another two years, I miss it all the time. The Britain style architecture, beautiful scenery everywhere, slow movement of live, friendly people. I love it, and hope to go back every chance I can.

  • The best place in the world!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/21/06
My boyfriend and I moved from Ontario to live in Victoria for a year. I loved every inch of this Island. Not only is there a million things to do everyday but just the scenery alone is enough to take your breath away everyday. We moved back to Ontario and there hasn't been a day go by where we miss everything about Victoria and the people. We ...

  • Beautiful city
    By Fitri, 01/12/06
It was the 1st time we visit Canada. We stayed at a hotel in Vancouver. The next morning we took a ferry to Victoria. It was great. Victoria is a beautiful and peaceful city. I wish we had more time to stay there. There's a lot of things to do there. I can't wait to come back.

  • Victoria for kids
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/05/05
Victoria is a nice city for kids. From tea at the Empress hotel to the miniature world, Buchart gardens, horse buggies, shopping and the BC museum!

People are friendly and it definately has a little London feel with parliment right across from the ferry dock!

Recommend in the summer but even in the winter (bring a warm coat and an umbrella)
