We stayed for two days at the end of our Railroad trip on the Rocky Mountaineer and wish we stayed for three. Such a beautiful town. So very clean and life is so very simple there.
We stopped off in Banff for around 5 days on our travels across Canada in the Summer - which was not enough!! We fell in love with this little town. It has such a friendly and warm atmosphere. Right in the middle of the mountains with the river runing through - stunning scenery and wildlife.
Lots of nearby attractions - Lake Louise, white ...
My trip to Banff was great. The flight was about 9 hours from Florida with a stop in Toronto. We then flew to Calgary, Alberta which was about 4 hours. The people we met in Canada were very polite and friendly and the country is beautiful.
The Cananian Rockies were espectacular, it snowed every day we were there. Banff is about 2 hours by car ...
This place was an OK ski mountain. There were some good runs like Fireweed and snowsnake, but it was pretty late in the season and a lot was still closed. There was still great powder where there was snow, but in some places you would have to avoid tree branches, grass, ect. The hotel was in Cannmore, a nearby city and it was great

banff , lake louise and sorrounding areas have a picture perfect setting in the canadian rockies. The terrains are unspoiled . Banff itself is very beautiful with lovely log houses. But everything is very expensive. From hotels , to attraction tickets , eating out. Moderate Hotels in early sep (not the ski season ) start around $180 . A meal in any ...
Breathtaking, spectacular, unforgetable... not enough to describe the rocky mountains. Attractions include icefield, lakes, water falls, among the others. Favorites include tour of Columbia Icefield (one should not miss this guided tour midway between Banff and Jasper), looking out Peyto Lake from Bow Summit, hiking in Johnston Canyon (Banff NP) or Maligne Canyon (Jasper NP), or Mt Edith Cavell.
I love Banff. Banff is the optimome of Mountain Ruggedness. It is my favourite place in the world. Having been to places like Whistler, Tahoe, Big Mountain.....Banff just seems better, nicer.
Recently stayed there over the fisrt part of Feb, a lot quieter and less tourists. The food was good and a large variety of places to eat, a little boring for the night life, but I guess that's why you go to the mountains. I found it a nice starting point to see the other sites like Lake Louise and the ski hills. The Hot Springs were a nice way to unwined at the end of the day.

We are from van island, visiting our daughter in Calgary and they took us there,,all I can say it's very beautiful. Anyone age would enjoy it there.
There are beautiful mountain all around for hiking, skiing, and camping. Check out the Banff Springs Hotel while you are there. For skiing I would recommend Lake Louis. Banff is a beautiful little town to enjoy it all from. It is a little overpriced, but the location is wonderful.
