I loved London, I loved all of Britain, I loved Chester, Edinburgh, York (but they were not on the list, didn't get to see as much as I'd like or go into Wales or Ireland, next time). I throughly enjoyed seeing the historic sites I'd read about for years and the British enjoy showing them, the attitude toward tourists is fantastic ...

  • Loving London
    By carolyn3408, 08/28/05
    We love London,

Decided to still go to London after the troubles there in July. Could not have had a better time. Londoners were wonderful to us. They are very positive, resilient people & made us feel very welcome. Transportation was still great & a wonderful walking city. Something for everyone. Stayed at the City Inn Westminster & also Bristol. Couldn't have been more pleased!!

  • Have you ever eaten in a Crypt?
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/05
The restaurant in St. Martin's of the Field is in the basement in the crypt. The ambiance is amazing! The food's great! And there's always some unusual, tasty soup, a vegetarian entree, great "daily" specials, fabulous bread, delicious desserts and they serve beer and wine. To top all of this off it is very reasonably priced.

  • Leicester Square - London Theater
    By Pamela Sailor, 08/29/05
My husband and I traveled to Europe right after September 11. People were not traveling, and my (now) husband and I were able to see the city, I believe, in a way most tourists do not. Not only were most tourist destinations empty, but the city was so true to itself. The theater experience in London is incredible. I am a huge fan of Les ...

  • Loving London
    By Laura H, 08/29/05
In the summer of 2004 I traveled to London with a large group of people. The high spots in my trip were Hampton Court Palace and the Tower of London, because I am a sucker for historic buildings and the stories that accompany them. Another favorite thing of mine was the London Eye, a huge ferris wheel. I loved the London Eye because it let me soar ...

  • Marvelous and Fun!
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/05
I spent a weekend in London in about 1985 and what a weekend it was!

The Cabby who took us from the airport gave us a great tour. It happened to be the weekend of "Trouping of the Color" in honor of Queen Elizabeth's birthday...and that may have been the last year she road in on horseback! The cabbie told us a good place to go to ...

  • London! Enough said.
    By Melody, 09/03/05
I love London, it is one of my most favourite cities in the world. There is something for everyone. You like clubbing, there are clubs for all types of people. You like history, art, and culture; London has an abundance of places to your liking. Whether you enjoy being in a metropolis or in the quiet country London has it all.

  • Where's the fish and chips?
    By packernascarmom, 09/04/05
London was just a very well laid out city. It was easy to get around. Who needs a car? The trains or buses or cabs are always available and they will take you anywhere you want to go. We actually took the train to Liverpol and to a few other places that by car would have taken hours. The countryside is beautiful. The history and the mystic ...

  • See historical, up-beat London...no life is complete without a visit!
    By Jana, 09/06/05
Anyone grown up on English education will immediately relate to Dick Whittington's London! The streets may not be paved with gold but there are great commercial opportunities for the enterprising business person. Besides the city has culture & tradition (you can sight Sherlokc Holmes at the Bakerloo station),entertainment galore...At every ...
