Dont visit only historical face of Istanbul .. Nisantasi, Taksim , Levent , Ortakoy are more modern and interesting than European Cities..

Istanbul is a great city with a rich history and a lot to offer any type of tourist! My husband and I recently visited this past month and are looking forward to returning and further exploring Istanbul and other parts of Turkey.

I had a short visit to Istanbul a few weeks ago and it was my first visit to that beautiful city . I will go there again soon :)

I loved Istanbul - with one exception. I was constantly having to fend off salesmen in the tourist areas. They try to strike up a conversation and want to be your friend - all an ulterior motive to get you back to their shop.

I finally had to start ignoring and/or saying a polite 'I'm not interested' anytime I was approached by a nice guy asking for the time.

Originally I was to spend a week here, but ended up rebooking my flight cause we pretty much saw most everything worthwhile in three days--you can too. Sultanahmet is a perfect location so you're close to the mosques. Check out the grand bazaar and egyptian spice market, walking distance. Try to see the whirling dervishes as well. Beautiful ...
