I found Geneva easy to get around, the public transport was good and i felt safe. The trouble with Geneva is that it is very dull. The people dont converse with you, half of the shops/bars are closed all of the time and there was very little to do. I chose a few things to do in my weekend, but most of the places i visited were closed. If you ...
Fascinating city but very expensive. People friendly and helpful, most have a smattering of English. Was not very crowded in August which surprised us . Driving in this city if you are unfamiliar with it is a nightmare, but public transport is good

Geneva is extremely cosmopolitan, safe, has excellent public transportation, is on the edge of a nice lake and is generally pleasant... but it still manages to be a rather dull place. It's expensive and very much a city for bankers and U.N. bureaucrats. A good place to spend a fortune on luxury watches, but otherwise its most renowned ...
I had the pleasure to have lived in Geneva for 15 months. I would recommend traveling to the other end of the lake to visit Montreaux, sight of the annual Montreaux Jazz Festival. Also visit the Castle of Chillion, where Byron carved his initials into the dungeon walls and where he was influenced to write "The Prisoner of Chillion." On Friday nights, the U.S. Marines hold a party at their Villa where one can meet other Americans.

This was the most beautiful place I have ever been. It was like God put his finger on the globe and ran it all down Switzerland. Geneva is the place I chose because there was so much to do and see. It is a bit bigger than some of the smaller towns and I just fell in love with it when I was there in 1999. I am sure it hasn't changed much, ...

We traveled through Geneva from Paris on our way to Venice. The city is clean and surrounded by great settings. Generally, reviews tend to be overly negative or overly positive, and I read dozens on Geneva before traveling. To the point: Geneva is obscenely expensive and any joy one has in being a tourist is overshadowed by constant reminders of ...
its a nice time to be there on there fete days in the summer very modern city but not much to do so it was quite boring for me but it was like a half hour by boat to lausanne and to the french side of the lake evian -les bains-...other than beautiful scenery its quite boring!!!!
OK, when one of your main tourist attractions is an artificial geyser, something's wrong. Geneva is a beautiful city, but with many beautiful cities to choose from on this planet, this is not enough. More importantly, it's expensive and not a good value. I was passing through on business and enjoyed a look around, but your plan should be to move on somewhere better, quickly. Kinda boring, but indeed pretty.
