A beautifull Northern European Gem. Great history, architecture, and culture. Can be pricey, but what city worth visiting really isnt? The Swedes are friendly, and helpfull once you break the ice. Respect them and they will respect you. Old Town (Gamla Stan) is truly a little place in time preserved for future generations. You can feel the history ...

Every year I come back!

Best place I have been to! Stylish, sophisticated and very urbane. Do not miss the small things like a small art gallery on the North side (Vasastan). Just make sure you dress appropriately (sophisticated informal) because the Swedes hate slobs! The Strand Hotel is a good place to stay. Call directly for the best room and rates. A Superior room ...

Nice!

I was so surprised! I thought Stockholm was a provincial city with a slightly East-european flavor. How wrong. Gosh this city´s got class! Amazing reastaurants, scenic vistas and cool and very classy people. Awesome. I´ve never been to country as sophisticated as Sweden. Shop around though because Sweden can be expensive if you don´t know the ropes. Especially if you´re a a young and inexperienced budget traveler!

Fantastic!

Great place. Great culture, food and atmosphere. I´ve been told by friends to go there for years and I wish I had sooner. I think Stockholm is the most overlooked city in Europe. People don´t know what they´re missing out on! The best thing is that the city is virtually empty of lagerlouts and backpackers which means more sophistication and ...

Stockholm is very stylish
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/24/06
6 visits. Great architecture and design. Best restaurants overall that I´ve experienced in any European city (yes, really!). Incredibly pretty city. Budget travelers and backpackers better head elsewhere because Stockholm´s main attraction is its sophistication and class. And that costs, though it is cheaper (in relative terms) now than say 15 ...

Great place to visit
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/06
We were in Stockholm November 2006. It was cold and wet. But it was an AMAZING city. Well worth the visit. Well worth being cold and wet!!! The city is beautiful. There is lots to do (more than we could fit in on a long weekend). The Vasa is a must see. Skansen is great...but do it in warm weather. The Ice Bar...it's easiest if you ...
