From downtown you can take the tram 28 that winds it's way up to the Alfama district. You can get off at the Cathedral stop & from there walk up to the Castle for great views over Lisbon. On your walk back you can explore Alfama with it's funky little streets & Fado clubs. Go back at night on the metro to St Apolonia station to a Fado club & hear the Portugese version of the blues started in the 1830's.
