  • Coffee shop, anyone?
    By captkave, 02/24/07
Went to Amsterdam for one thing. Most people would guess what I am referring to. Probably, we visited little too many coffee shops during our 3 day trip. We were 3 blocks away from Ann Frank's house, but did not get a chance to visit. Not a good place for a family vacation for sure.

  • 2006 visit to Holland
    By Forward Steps, 01/13/07
I absolutely loved it. Be sure to take a canal tour in the city of Amsterdam. They have many available and a full day pass that allows you to step on and off at various tourist attractions or for lunch. Rijksmuseum and Ann Franks house etc. are terrific to visit.
I visited every corner of Holland while there in May 2006 for a month. Friesland has ...

  • Fabulous city
    By ., 01/05/07
I cannot even begin to explain how great this trip was. Amsterdam has to be the most laid back city in the world. The people are all so nice and everyone knows either English or German. While I was walking through the city, all I could think of was the history of this place. Kukenhoff was wonderful! Van Gogh museum and Anne Frank house was a must. ...

  • Had a GREAT Time!
    By George Z, 12/29/06
Like the title says: I had a GREAT time during my stay in Amsterdam. I flew into London first, and then connected to Amsterdam.

This was the first time for me traveling to Europe, so naturally, I was a little worried about train/tram connections. Once I got there, I found it was very easy to figure out the necessary connections, and the ...

  • Hhhmm...There's Something in the Air!
    By sinker25, 12/15/06
*Sniff *Sniff...There's somethin' in the air I smelled upon stepping out of the Centraal Station on a clear last weekend of May 2006. And it came to my mind...it's the weed, DUMMY! I could smell them several blocks from the Red Light District. And I surmised, this will be a start of a great vacation. Amsterdam is a small city; you could ...

  • I can't wait until I go back!!!
    By jill g, 12/08/06
Amsterdam is unbelievable. I have not traveled much in my life and this was a real experience for me. I enjoyed everything about it....I went with my boyfriend and we stayed for two 1/2 days. The Red Light District is different...not what you'd see in the USA. It was really cool walking everywhere...going into different pubs and sampling ...
