If you intend to go to Florence DON'T DRIVE. The place is choc-a-bloc with "infringement" cameras which snap you if you go into forbidden zones. The efficient Florentine authorities then hand the matter to a private outfit called "European Municipality Outsourcing" who then forward you an infringement notice 9 months later, ...
Most of the folks at il Clainetto were locals and a hidden gem away from all the touristy spots in Florence. Most definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Its a little outside the center (near the train station) but definitely worth the short trip. Very reasonable prices, great service, and even an outdoor patio seating area. I had ...
felt great when I arrive at Florence airport, People there were great they were smiley, Helpful and welcoming answering any question and very helpfull that really chear me up which is th very opposite of Rome's airport the stuff there are not friendly at all and not helpful treating you bad and not willing to answer any question or give any help
The hostel Archi Rossi was exceptional, the art amazing, and the street markets were great for souvenirs. Just don't get lost at night because you'll have a hard time getting back.
Florence is absolutely gorgeous. Being there is like being inside a painting. The people are friendly, the food is phenomenal (everything fresh), the history you can see just as you walk down any street is breathtaking. My recommendation if you want to see other cities in Italy is stay in Florence and take day-trips by train to Rome, Venice, Pisa, etc. If going to Italy is on your list of places to go, I would urge you to move it to the top.
I loved the accessibility of the art, specifically in the Uffizi, as well as the charming nature of the city. I loved the food, the people, the clubs, and the churches and cathedral. What a beautiful place to go!

Florence is one of the most popular places to visit. It is a small, but beautiful and close-knit community with a wonderful culture and friendly people. There is so much to do and see. The best food, the best sights, the best leather- it is the leather capital of the world. And the shopping is fantastic. Go to the San Lorenzo Market for ...

I am currently living in Florence while completing a semester abroad. Before I left the states I had a joyous vision of Florence as this sophisticated city of art a beauty. I was a little saddened by what I actually found. The locals can be extremely rude to Americans, even if they're not there to be tourists but students! One of my friends was ...

The city itself is beautiful enough, and if you're going to be there for three or four days, you may very well love it. I stayed for a month in the summer of 2007. The first thing I noticed was a pervasive atmosphere of rudeness - and not just to tourists or non-Italians. Being from the South, I was raised to be polite to everybody, and I ...
