There is no warmth in this island. The people was so cold and rude... I don't understand why you advertise it as a friendly country, it's dangerously closed and finally I was racially abused...

Neat city; lots to enjoy!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/11/06
I just returned from a 10-day trip throughout Ireland with a group of 25 people. We were in Galway for two nights. The shopping is great, so plan accordingly because many shops are only open until 6 pm. The pedestrian area of Galway (Shop Street) is a great way to spend a few hours and then to come back to for dinner and drinks! We stayed at ...
Galway is a must-visit location if you take a trip to Ireland. The city is known for it's theatre, music and relaxed atmosphere. One of the nicest things about Galway is its proximity to fabulous scenery in places like Connemara and the Arran Islands. A short 30-minute drive West will take you to Spiddal, a picturesque village by the ocean with ...
I visited Galway City quite some time ago, but it left a huge impression on me. The population is generally young since there is a college nearby. People's accents can sometimes be a bit confusing, but everyone I encountered was extremely friendly. There was one quaint cobblestone street with clothes stores galore; nothing too expensive. There ...

i lived in galway for 5 years and found it a really silly pretentious place,it has no underground scene whatsoever and if you scratch the surface youll find people to be quite superficial, having said that it is very safe and is quite close to some of the most stunning scenery in western europe, but if you want to find the real ireland you certainly ...
This is one of the cutest towns I've ever visited. If you get tired of tons of hustle and bustle from the cities, Galway is a great stop. Still a city, but on a much smaller scale. Very charming! You're a quick drive away from the Cliffs of Mohr as well. Absolutely beautiful, a must see! Plus, it's always fun to rent a car and ...

Lovely town!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/08/05
We recently went to Galway on our trip to Ireland for our honeymoon. We stayed two nights at Salthill in a B & B. We loved it! We took a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Dunguaire Castle, and to a small town called Doolen. It was fabulous! We enjoyed meeting all the people. They are the most kind and welcoming people we have ever met ...

Galway itself is quite beautiful and fairly easy to find your way around. The people are extremely friendly and enjoy all the visitors. Experiencing the smaller towns around Galway was great! Everyone is laid back and just enjoying life to the fullest!
In my visit to Galway, i met by far the nicest people in all of Ireland. At every pub, i met a new group of people who were more than happy to show me around. I found that meeting new people was really easy, and thats how i found some of the coolest "local" pubs, because they were really into me seeing the real Ireland. Another place that ...

Modern
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/05
Galway is by far one of the most modern cities in Ireland. But at the same time it manages to keep some of that old world charm. It's absolutely beautiful and the docklands are quite nice. If you're looking for nightlife this is definitely the place to go. With the University College Galway there the populace is alot younger and more ...
