Dublin is a very cool city with lots to do, but parking is terribly expensive and hard to find. We're planning a second trip there in a few weeks and plan to use public transportation rather than renting a car.

We spent 4 days in Dublin recently and in the country south of the city. Beutiful and green we were on an Agricultural tour so visited farms and dairies south of Dublin, which was very enjoyable and interesting!
In Dublin our hotel was right next to Trinity College and of course we walked down Grafton Street. Lots of shops and bars really nice ...

Take the student tour of Trinity College..well worth the 10e as was the free National Museum of Archeology and also the Botanic Gardens [a pleasant surprise]. Stay outside of the city in a B&B and take the bus to town. Only a 10-15 minute ride and you'll save $$$. We stayed at the Aghadoe House in Glasnevin which was plain but clean and there was a great restaurant just a 10 minute walk away as was the Botanic Gardens.

If you go to Ireland be sure to bring alot of money. I travelled around Dublin and Ireland and what I found was a nation completely obsessed with money. There was no kindness to be found anywhere. The downtown of Dublin is small but very friendly ; you can walk in Stephen's Green park, you can go to Grafton Street, the most popular street with it's animation and with a lot of expensive shops.
