Berlin is enemy territory for tourists, not travelers. For creative people, those who question society, those who are offended by fakeness, open minded souls it is Mecca. I have never once felt in danger here, nor have I felt even a tiny bit threatened by police. Oh and it's a giant rave.

Don't expect a fast-paced, hectic city like NYC, Paris or London. Don't expect towering monumental sights, except the TV tower. Berlin is vibrant but in a different, more humane way than those cities.
