very safe city

Berlin as a city is pretty awesome. It has great museums and historical sites, cool shops, and great nightlife. But people...oh my God. So rude, and so unfriendly to foreigners. If they hear you talk in a language other than German, they give you these dirty looks, you immediately wish you never came there.

I lived in this city for almost 5 years and believe have discovered every tiny little bit of it.
It's a mixed place where everyone finds something for their own interests. Not as many historical monuments perhaps as rome, but has it's own share of goodies.

Berlin is indeed one of the last great capitals of the world. You are within an hour from the sea. A few hours from the primeval forests, and a short soujourn away from the majestic mountain ranges of europe. To delve so deeply into the history of the city is to come alive in the city of Berlin. Yes, the tragic past needs remembering, but there is also a sense of optimism in this grand city.
