Mardi Gras is a huge festival every year in Nice. it takes part each February (dates vary from year to year, 2008 is from 16th February to 2nd March). It is better known as the "Carnival of Nice". And is one of France's biggest. The theme of the 2008 Carnival will be : "King of Bats, Cats, Rats and other legendary creatures" . It is lots of fun and great for a family vacation.

I stayed about a block away from the Meditteranean Sea and it was quite unbelievable. The City was amazing and the beach was incredible. I was there when France won the Eurocup over Italy and the people were a lot of fun. I would recommend this trip to anyone interested in relaxing in crystal clear water and a laid back city.

the only problem was the timing we went to Nice. The city centre is under a major constraction of their tram line, so there are some sights that may be a little bit unpleasant. Otherwise, a lovely place to visit, full of people, shops, good restaurants and lots but lots to see. Wear your best confortable shoes because walking is a great pleasure in this city. From Nice you can also visit Monaco and Cannes for around 2€ by bus.

Different from Paris, people are much friendly , they love to give help even they dont really know the place.I cannot speak Franch but i have no difficulty to visit Nice. Food are great and varity, they provide italian, American, Franch. Vietnaian.Price are relately cheap in nice compare with monaco.Also , the beach is so nice, a much visit place.

The people are very, very rude. They pretend that they do not know what you are saying, even if you speak fluent French. The waiters comment on how you eat and what you eat and make rude jokes about you in front of your face.
