Nantes is one of the few places where many French people want to move and live; its clean, charming (yet hip), super green, near the sea and has quite alot of culture to offer.

As for travelling its great for because, for one, its almost completley off the radar of the France tourism circuit.

Really cool place to visit. I really love Nantes's atmosphere with its lovely cafes and bistros. Excellent restaurants with a + for fish and seashells.
