We came to Prague for a short vacation. The reputation of the beauty of this city does not do it justice. The old town is gorgeous, with medieval castles, bridges and picturesque squares.
Unfortunately as the Czech republic has joined the European union the prices have gone up and compete with such cities as Paris and Vienna.

We loved prague. We went there on a romantic weekend, and we're not disapointed. Lots of culture, some amazing views if your prepared to climb the clock tower, we stayed at hotel central, which was very reasonably priced just 5 mins from main square. Good food, friendly people, lots of shops! many good cafes/bars. clean and safe. Loved it. Prague is good for all budgets.

Prague is no doubt one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Unfortunately the whole world wants to be there and the locals know it.

I was there in Sept 06 and it was crowded, expensive and service was generally poor. They expect you to pay US/Western Europe prices for Eastern European infrastructure and service, or the lack of it.

To the locals, tourists are just walking ATM's.
