Great place to be !Well what can I say?! It was cold, but it's an awesome city to visit. The people were nice and there were some pubs that were old fashioned and soooo cozy. I had a blast and the night clubs are rocking0 of 2 Yahoo! Users found this review helpfulOVERALL

Sofia: City of my heartStill retaining the old grandeur of the Soviet style boulevards. Excellent outdoor cafes and restaurants. Warm, friendly and kind people. You must visit Nefski Cathedral and the old part of the city with the open flea market. Despite the greyness of the old huge building blocks, the city is getting prettier all the time. A Great 24 HoursI stayed at the Radisson in the center of Sofia across from Parliament. View was incredible. I walked all over Sofia (to the soccer stadium and back) with nothing to be concerned about. Lots of people spoke English so communicating was not an issue. hotelI would like to recomend hotel"Tsarevo selo".The place was great,brand new with huge rooms,great service and coast only 60 Euro.They even had the american standart electic plugs.On the other hand stay away from hotel"Rodina"1 of 3 Yahoo! Fantastic place!Excellent atmosphere, excellent food, excellent weather, friendly people (everyone speaks at least one foreign language).
The mountains are spectacular, the seaside is beautiful. Great nightlife!

What to say about BulgariaIt is a beautiful city for the area it's in. Bulgaria is deffinately one of the less comfortable places I've been to. It's filled with mafia and it's not someplace I felt I could relax. It has it's good parts as far as value, like the markets (particularly the black markets), but from a moralistic, and saftey point of view, it's not the greatest place to go.4 of 8 Yahoo! really nice cityi was very pleased-surprised when i visited Sofia.
it is really interesting city in an european spirit.
if u have some free time and some money(it's quite cheap)go ahead.visit sofia and u won't be disapointed.
