Prepare to throw away your shoes after your visit here. The streets surrounding the Grand Place are disgustingly nasty. Everything is overpriced. You can literally see all this city has to "offer" in less than 2 hours, WALKING on foot. There are plenty of pick pockets and shady characters here. Stop by for 2 hours, buy some ...

Brussels is indeed a boring city. apart from the chocolate and waffles.Nothing else is interesting.Food is more expensive then the uk with proper meals costing a staggering 15-20 euros. Could have better food in london with 10 pounds. The cobbled street around everywhere makes walking difficult. You need a good pair of walking shoes.A very dirty city ...

I went all over europe and Brussels was defintely one of the worst cities I had been too. First of all there's not much to see in tiny brussels. The main event in brussels is the little peeing boy which is such a let down once you go see him. My friends and I were planning on staying in brussels for just a day or so, but ended up cutting our ...

Brussels may well and truly be the most underrated city in Europe. Its the most beautiful city and i can say that as i have seen more than 15 European cities.
starting with Grand Place, very nice square with gothic buildings. definately stay near to the Grand Place. The area near the EU building is empty during the weekend. wouldnt recommend ...
i went to Brussel for three days and I think the old town is the best place I have been. The grand Place is just stunning, many chocolate shop around and they are definely the BEST in the world, You won't be stop buying . Ask the reciption to show you the Rue des Bouchers street, it is a seafood street which offer you loads of good food. Try ...
BRUSSELS IS A CITY THAT I NEVER EXPECTED TO FALL IN LOVE WITH! I WENT THERE A FEW YEARS AGO AND I WAS STUNNED BY THE ATMOSPHERE, IT IS LIKE LIVING IN A FAIRYTALE, THE SHOPS ARE AMAZING, ITS NOT A VERY EXPENSIVE CITY AND THE GRAND PLACE IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SQUARE I VE EVER SEEN! I D LOVE TO GO BACK SOMEDAY!

Brussels - A world City!
By pooterbug, 02/14/07
Before coming to live in Europe, I did not know much about Brussels or Belgium. Brussels is the capital city of Europe and is also home to the European Union. This probably accounts for about 1/3 of Brussels' population being foreigners. So, it is easy enough to move about speaking English.
Brussels is a really massive city. You can ...

Not impressed

We spent 4 days in Bressels in the area near gare midi. it was filthy as if the rubbish collectors were on strike. So many grafitti all over the city. Food are expensive- Moules and chips are cheaper in Paris! There are many cobbled streets in the centre and several beautiful buildings etc but they are spread out too much as too many old buildings were destroyed and replaced by modern ones. What a shame! This is not one of our favourite cities.

By A Yahoo! Contributer, 11/29/06
We spent three days in Brussels and loved every minute of it. We stayed at the Hilton Brussels City Hotel in Rogier Place. Great hotel, nice people, perfect location. Brussels is the European Union and NATO headquarters so they do get a lot of visitors from other countries for business. We spent the first day walking around the city and taking ...
