crowds even in July. The atmosphere is not great, I caught a few whiffs of antiforeigner, antisemitism, antiamericanism, etc. Cafe Eden at the Groenmarkt should hang a sign out, don't wait on tourists in shorts. Hotel Florida is not welcoming place.

I like it because it's my hometown. It's a cozy place to be, really. The Cathedral is just magnificent, especially at night. The river 'de Schelde', the docks...It's all so wonderful. There's no place I'd rather live.

If you come to Belgium, you really have to visit Antwerp. Even though Brussels is our capital, you can't miss Antwerp. If you don't visit it, you've never seen the real Belgium.
