My Dad was here years and years ago while he was in the military. I had the opportunity to travel to Europe two years ago and I toured a bit of France, Switzerland, Germany, and the Austrian Alps. My Dad told me before my trip that the one place that I would absolutely love would be Innsbruck, Austria. Sure enough he was right. Dad's are ...
Innsbruck is a paradise. The mountains, people, and the town are the best I've ever experienced. It is my favorite spot in Europe.
Wolfgang runs the Pension Paula in Innsbruck and the rooms are very comfortable (we had room #5). We will definitely stay here again. The prices were the most reasonable in all of the places we stayed in Europe (Italy, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland). However there is no elevator or Internet access on site.
Innsbruck is a beautiful city. My mother is from Radstadt, about an hour from Salzburg, and we still have a lot of family in Austria around Huttau, Werfenweg, the Alps, etc. and we get to visit a lot. We took the train to Innsbruck and it took my breath away. I could live there it's so clean and pretty.

Innsbruck and the surrounding mountains are great for holidaying. We found the best time to visit was in the fall. There were fewer crowds, great hiking and plenty of good restaraunts to warm up by the fire after a day in the mountains. One of our favorite Alpine areas.
Loved it there. It's a place where you can wander back in time to the 1700's. Lots of old charming buildings. Lot's of good beer as well. This place is nestled below tall mountains so the scenery is awesome. It would behove you to learn some German at least the common terms. Ein bier bitter and such. There's nothing touristy just a cool place to live amounst the Austrians and live the life. Wanna go back!
I have been to Innsbruck numerous times in winter for skiing,in summer for sightseeing and festival time and visited the Christmas Market in December. Innsbruck has so much to offer on culture, history and scenery with the Alps to the North and South. My favorite place to enjoy the scenery is the Olympic skijump arena with its lookout restaurant ...

My home away from home

My mother is from Innsbruck and it's allowed me to visit family there on each of my 12 trips in the past 19 years of my life. If you're looking for a place that feels like a city but isn't so big that it's overwhelming, Innsbruck is worth the visit. It has so much charm as well as fascinating history dating back several centuries. ...
Innsbruck Austria! This darling town is right off the Train station. Walk into town and walk around enjoying the quaint medieval hamlet like setting. Look for black forest clocks, antiques and art. Then stroll into Rathskellar restaurant and order Schitzel Roladen for dinner. Top it off with a delightful Apple Strudel like only the Austrians can ...
Innsbruck was one of my favorite places in Austria. Just getting there was an adventure. Through valleys, canyons, and in between mountains our train went. Once we stepped out of the train the first thing we noticed was the breath taking mountains that just seemed to surround us. Walking around the town was excitement enough, but taking in some of ...
