Ah, Manila.Any proper review of the city of Manila would take far more than the 4000 characters allowed. I've been there a dozen times and I'm always struck by just how often I alternate between loathing and loving the place. By any objective standard, it's a bit of a hell-hole. Manila, hmmmmmIt is dirty, crowded and driving is a nightmare. There is no discipline at all. I regret spending the money coming here when Thailand has class, culture and charisma. Visit Davao Instead!I lived in The Phil for the better part of a year and the people are about the friendliest I've ever met. However, there were only 2 cities I would not recommend, Manila and Zamboanga. Manila is only worth a stopover for shopping at one of the big malls, Glorietta for me. Great PlaceWhat can you say about Manila? I love New York, Manila is as good if not better. The best shopping, eating and nightlife anywhere in the world, just think about the malls all so close to each other, Market Market and the hight street, Mall of Asia, Power Plant, Robinsons, Glorietta, Greenbelt.

Medical TourismArrived at Manila International Airport late evening in October 2008. I'm a Philippine-born U.S. Citizen, no hazzle at immigration. Customs was very quick, a plus.
