Shanghai is overall a pretty nice place. It is very convinient for eating, shopping, and recreational purposes, although getting to them is the hard part; the traffic is often quite awful, because the city is very crowded. However, getting the transportation is easy, there are thousands of taxis waiting to be of service, and if you're a bit ...

Shanghai is AWESOME!
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/09/05
I stayed ten nights at the hilton in shanghai where the hotel was really nice and had good views from both the room and the roof top lounge. But the hotel was the most expensive place to eat! For a fraction of the cost of hotel food I could get full course meals for a group at local fine dining establishments.
The shopping was really good ...

Great city for business travel; not for tourism
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 03/05/05
Shanghai is the city of skyscrapers, where some of the skyscrapers already look dated with their UFO like tops. It's interesting to see the future of China, but there is little to interest the average tourist. For people who come just to shop or eat, you won't be disappointed although it clearly not as cheap as it used to be. And you get what you pay for. Those fake watches will probably break within 3 months. Bangkok is cheaper.

Dazzling Skyscrappers
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 02/21/05
Shanghai has trasnformed its whole outlook compared to my first trip there 13 years ago. The skyscrapper are simply fascinating and there are good food everywhere. If I have gone there during spring or autumn it might be more convenient as it was raining almost everyday and the weather was freezing. However, if the people there can stop spitting, it will improve the city's image.

Shanghai travel
By A Yahoo! Contributer, 01/01/05
Travel by bus, its cheaper than the taxi. Or by subway. Watchout for professional taxis, they can be too expensive. Shanghai is big, a person can get lost... more than once... i did. Perhaps good police, but not so good traffic conditions. I heard a screech crash when i was in a small resturant one day.
