  • Excellent Food !
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/13/09
I just have to say something about this place. It's fairly new and deserves some more attention. I am talking about cafe-restaurant Amazon in 102 street (between the post-office and the riverside). It's run by helpfull and friendly miss Thy and she cooks every dish with passion. You can choose some Cambodian, Vietnamese, Thai and Western ...

    By Morgan, 12/11/06
It has a lot of temples, I'm sure you can see them on the streets. The city is quite dusty, ppl here are friendly and nice, food is delicious ! This is a place for historical and cultural visit.

  • Wonderful restaurant
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/07/06
I have just had the most memorable time of my life visiting Cambodia. Angkor was amazing and the Cambodian people are the lovliest people I have ever met. It's really difficult to imagine the Khmer Rouge genocide. I had to see Tuol Sleng and the Killing Fields at Choeung Ek but I found them quite disturbing but absolutely essential to see. ...

  • TRUELY AMAZING!!!
    By Angel21ck, 07/20/06
Cambodia is truly amazing. Definitely a whole different world. There are not to many things that I can say about Cambodia that I didn’t like. Yes, after about three days in Cambodia I had gotten a little sick and had to go the clinic. Where the people and doctors were very kind to me and believed I was only experiencing a little bit of food ...

  • Wild, Wild East
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/18/06
Well, no one can deny Phnom Penh has a lot of "atmosphere" and it's certainly a good value, but not exactly Disneyland for a family vacation. Best to stick to the standard tourist sites and don't travel at night alone--try to get from point A to point B with an experienced guide...you can rent them cheap. That being said, it's ...

  • Sketchy, but exotic
    By n8t, 07/08/06
Definitely an interesting third-world, exotic city to explore. The Russian Market made for some good bargain shopping. On a downer note, touring the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum was quite sobering--unbelievable what humans can do to humans. Having been to Auschwitz/Birkenau as well, I'd say Toul Sleng and a trip out to the "killing ...

  • Phnom Penh has spirit
    By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/06
Ive made many trips to Phnom Penh in the last few years on some aid-type work.
Likes - have yet to meet a Cambodian I disliked; the wonderful variety of good inexpensive international food (thanks to the huge number of international volunteers and aid workers based here), the broad boulevards, the haggling at Russian and Central markets; the grid ...
