El Hogar de Carmelita is a great hostel. The house and rooms are nice, and they are always clean. The bathrooms also stay clean. Carmen is extremely hospitable and welcomes you into her home. She also cooks a great breakfast. It is a 15-20 minute walk to downtown, and there is a bust stop right across the road. I highly recommend this hostel.

A cute little 3-storey house near downtown. Carmelita is friendly, helpful and cooks a yummy breakfast. The beds and bathrooms were clean, and we had a balcony overlooking the street and historic buildings. She speaks spanish slowly and clearly for those who can't speak well, and some English. Fully recommend it.
