I came in with my fiance who is from the UK(Newcastle) and knows true British fare. The service was molasses slow, the food was just ok and not worth the exorbitant price and for being a British pub(trying to be) they should have had a British manager and some British staff. My fiance and I enjoyed sitting outside much more with just a couple sodas ...

My favorite English pub experience! I have been a fan of The Black Lab for years and have never been disappointed. The Fish and Chips are probably the best in the city and if you've never had an English breakfast with Scotch Eggs, Rarebit, Scones and all the trimmings then you definitely need to try out this long time, favorite pub for Sunday brunch. Merry Old England in Houston - what a combination!

Great pub! Lots of fun. Good food and atmosphere. Very nice menu at reasonable prices. Great for lunch or a casual dinner.

This is a fun little place. The giant chess set outside is really fun to watch. The food is excellent and the service is commendable. It is often very busy, but it is worth the wait.

i've been going to the black lab for YEARS now, and i have to say, the quaint atmosphere and the FOOD are the BEST reasons to come. the cottage pie is to die for, and the fireplace is second to none for refuge on a chilly evening. i give the black lab 6 stars on a scale of 5, for quality, atmosphere, food, durability, and overall memorability!

Once you walk through that red door. You see the British guard standing in front of you. Hidden behind the Vines of time, this British Pub is a perfect hang out away from the city bustle. It is relaxing and the service is great. The names of the entrees catches your eyes as well from Bubbles and Squeak to Sheperd's Pie [the best item in the ...
