My husband, our three daughters and I ate at Schoepfs for the first time yesterday, we have lived in the area four years now and wondered how we have missed this place. We ordered an array of menu items:

Brisket: husband says 9.5 out of ten. The meat was soft, tender, juicy and smokey. He wanted to go back and we hadn't left yet.

So far it only looks like 2 people have a strong opinion about it not being good. My wife and I ate there on our way back to FW from San Antonio and we were very pleased! Will probably stop anytime we're in that direction.

I dont know if it is their intent but the ribs are very dry and BEEF JERKY LIKE. Actually a bunch of them were crunchy. Brisket was good. This place is one of the best BBQ restaurants I've been to. The Ribs and Brisket were great and very moist. They are cooked over a real wood fire and you can taste the quality.

I would recommend this place to everyone and its right off the highway.
